As a manufacturing engineer, this video is basically my job. My background is mechanical engineering, but I’m on the factory floor every day seeing products made and I act as the liaison between design and production. DFM, or Design For Manufacturability, is critical when producing at scale. Some of the stuff design engineers give me… you can tell they’ve never set foot in the factory in their life.

so .. in my country (germany) its not unusual that you start of as a trainee in metal work then you work/study for 3 years and now you are a "mechanic" you learn some years more and you become a foreman (bachelor) you learn some more and you become an engineer (master) this leeds to a positive effect our engineers also have practical expirience
